5 days tour program Hanoi – Trang An – Halong – Duong Lam – Mai Chau

Day 1: Hanoi city tour (Lunch)

Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi, Vietnam, located on the shores of West Lake.

Pick up at 9:00 am to visit Hochiminh complex to visit Hochiminh’s mausoleum, Presidential palace, his house on stilts and one pillar pagoda. Then Continue to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda as known the oldest pagoda in the city, originally constructed in the sixth century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De, thus giving it an age of 1,400 years, then keep walking to Quan Thanh Temple, formerly known as Tran Vu Temple is a Taoist temple in Hanoi, as one of the Four Sacred Temples of the capital, Quan Thanh Temple is located near West Lake.

Keep forward to the Temple Of Literature, constructed in 1070, it is a temple of Confucius in Hanoi, northern Vietnam. And the temple hosts the “Imperial Academy”, Vietnam’s first national university.

Have lunch at local restaurant and proceed to visit the Ethnology Museum. Which focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam, it is widely considered to be the finest modern museum in Vietnam and a tourist attraction in Hanoi.

We will take you to Hoan Kiem Lake, one of the most typical vehicles in Hanoi, is a human-powered transport with a seat at the front for passengers and the driver at the back. Walk around the Old Quarter of Hanoi to experience the bustling, real lifestyle of this exciting and vibrant neighborhood.

Day 2: Day trip to Trang An – Bai Dinh pagoda (Lunch)

Depart the hotel this morning at 8.30 for the 2 and half-hour drive through rural northern Vietnam to the site of Bai Dinh Pagoda, the biggest one in Vietnam with 500 Arhat statues. You can see a biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam with 10 meters in height, 100 tons in weight. You will be given an introduction of beliefs and religions in Vietnam.

Have lunch in a local restaurant with some special dishes such as goat meat, pork storage vessel….

Leave for Trang An eco-tourism attraction. You will be amazed by neglected area while having boat trip through cave chains: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Sinh Cave…experiencing mysterious views of the so-called “Ha Long Bay in land”

Get back to your vehicle and then return to Hanoi.

Day 3: Day trip to Halong bay (Lunch)

At 08:00, we will be met by your private tour guide at the lobby of hotel; then we all transfer to Halong Bay Cruise, Quang Ninh province. We arrive at Bai Chay wharf at midday, welcome by crew team of Phoenix Day Cruise and we start enjoying 4 hours boat cruise trip. A delicious seafood lunch will be served when we completely relax on boat. We are both having seafood and seeing the wonderful sightseeing outside. Our lunch time ends is the time we walk into the Thien Cung cave (Heaven Palace cave).

After 1 hour stay in the “Heaven Palace”, we are back to the boat for cruising along the World Nature Heritage part to see the Incense Bowl islet, Cock fighting islets Sail islet, Turtle Island. If weather permitting, we can enjoy our great time with swimming and floating on the tranquil bay.

Day 4: Duong Lam ancient village and biking tour (Lunch)

Pick up at 8:30 am and travel west of Hanoi to Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. Upon arrival, visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.

Bike to visit Mia Pagoda (other hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in 15th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, along with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Viagra Deities. Continue riding around the village to discover the daily life and farming working of Vietnamese peasants along the terrace with a stop to visit ancient house back to 200 years ago.  Enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house. Walk along tiny ancient alleys to visit Mong Phu communal house in Mong Phu hamlet and walk on foot to see local people living in the ancient village.

Day 5: Day trip to Mai Chau

Mai Châu is a rural district of Hoa Binh province in the northwestern region of Vietnam. The district is located at about 160 km from Ha Noi. The scenery of Mai Chau attracts many tourists. The Mai Chau area is well known for its stilt houses. The type of stilt houses, or pile dwellings, they construct are called Thai stilt houses and are made of bamboo and timber. These houses are elevated 10-12 feet off the ground in order to avoid water damage and shelter animals from the elements.

8. 00- 8:30 – Pickup at your hotel, then drive for approximately 4 hours drive to Mai Chau located about 150 km southwest of Hanoi. Just an hour beyond Hanoi, after Hoa Binh Town, the road weaves through mountains, fertile valleys and traditional villages.
10:00 – Short break for coffee or tea
11:30-12:00 – Scenic photo stop of Mai Chau valley/arrive in Mai Chau
12:30 – Traditional lunch in local village (vegetarian food is available)
13:00-15:00 – Bicycle ride with local tour guide, see farmers working in fields, locals weaving scarves and visit surrounding peaceful villages. Leave Mai Chau for Hanoi.
18:30-19:00 – Drop you off at your hotel, and end of your trip.
