Tourist arrivals continue to rise in 2017

Vietnam continued to receive large groups of international travelers in February, reaching a record high of 1.2 million foreign arrivals, a 42.2 per cent increase compared with last year and 20 per cent increase from January 2017. During the first two months of 2017, the country received 2.2 million foreign visitors, up 33 percent from the same period last year, according to the HCM City Department of Tourism.

Many HCM City-based travel agencies like Saigontourist, ICS Travel Group and Liên Bang Travelink have reported excellent figures in February, too. Some companies saw guest arrivals surge by around 40 percent on-year, while some big hotels in HCM City reported occupies of over 80 percent during the second month of the year.

China remained Vietnam’s top market, aided by a rising number of flights; HCM City alone receives 10 flights from China per day, and the figure is expected to climb further.
